Mini Chicago Deep Dish Pizza Cups Recipe

Ingredients
wonton wrappers
16 oz block mozzarella cheese, shredded
non-stick cooking spray
grated parmesan cheese
3 tablespoons butter, melted
2 cloves garlic, sliced
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
Pizza Sauce Base
15 oz crushed tomatoes
1/4 small red onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
Sauce Seasoning
1 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic
1/2 teaspoon granulated onion
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 tablespoon white sugar
Instructions
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and add olive oil.
Sauté diced red onion for 2-3 minutes until softened.
Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Stir in crushed tomatoes, fresh basil, and all of the Sauce Seasoning ingredients.
Simmer for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and set aside.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a small combine 3 tablespoons melted butter, sliced garlic, and dried parsley then set aside.
Lightly spray a mini cupcake pan with non-stick cooking spray. You may need to trim wrappers to size to fit mini-cupcake pan cups. Reserve the scrap pieces to use later.
Press wonton wrappers into each cup, forming a small pizza crust.
Add a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese into each wonton cup.
Spoon garlic butter mixture over each wonton cup.
Place a cut piece of wonton wrapper on top of the cheese to create a layered effect like true Chicago deep dish pizza.
Spoon pizza sauce over the second wonton layer.
Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese for extra flavor.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the wonton edges are crispy and the cheese is bubbly.
Let cool for 2 minutes before removing from the pan.
Garnish with extra chopped fresh basil, serve warm, and enjoy!
